The Core is a small spherical artifact with various engravings on it. It appeared shortly after The Shift, along with the Heralds. Upon death of a Herald, the core will resurrect them, warping the world around them in the process such that each adventure is different.
Each Herald is a keeper of the Core, and it can be seen on their characters.
- Dharma has the Core in their forehead
- Executor has the Core either in their hands or orbiting their head
- Goo has the Core inside their head, visible through their flesh
- Marduk has the Core in the chest of their sarcophagus
- Morry's Core can be seen in the chest of her ghost
- Tix appears to be or is perhaps carrying the Core
